Where we came from
This site has been around since the 2010s, when it started as a passion project… a humble corner of the internet dedicated to sharing interesting, surprising, and little-known things about Canada. Back then it ran on MediaWiki, the same software that powers Wikipedia, and grew organically over time into a reference resource visited by curious readers from around the world.
After a period of quiet, we decided it was time to bring it back; rebuilt from the ground up on a modern platform, with fresh content, better organization, and a whole lot more Canada to explore.

Facts About Canada is an independent website run by people who genuinely love this country and love sharing what makes it so remarkable. We’re not a news outlet, a government agency, or an academic institution — just a dedicated team doing our best to keep things accurate, up to date, and genuinely worth reading.
We do our homework. Where facts are verifiable, we verify them. Where topics are complex, we try to reflect that complexity honestly rather than oversimplify.
