Do Raptors fans have potty mouths? F—, yeah.
A recent study of each NBA teams sub-forum on Reddit found that they do.
According to the casino.org analysis, the Raptors ranked fourth of the 30 teams for vulgar words per 100 subscribers, behind fans of the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers (no surprise there) and Phoenix Suns (we guess supporting a perennially terrible team, such as the Suns, makes people cranky).
That ranking was for the regular season, but when the playoffs were taken into account, the Raptors rose to the top, just like they did last year when they brought home the NBA title for the first time. In the post-season. Maybe Drake doesn’t just swear when he’s sitting courtside? Perhaps he’s logging on, too.
The most popular profanity for Toronto supporters was a–hole, which they used 18.2% more often than the league average. Nearly 50% of the profanity in the playoffs (47.7%) was the word “f—.” Foul!
While the vulgarity rate on Reddit dips significantly during the playoffs, when things get more serious, Toronto supporters drop 16.3 profane words per 100 subscribers, on average. Philadelphia, Portland and Denver are next. Friendly Indiana Pacers fans are the politest, swearing just 1.9 times/100 in the playoffs.
