Role and competitions

The CCAA provides national competition pathways for colleges and institutes, culminating in Canadian championships hosted by member institutions and conferences. Sports typically include soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross-country running, golf, badminton, and others as approved by membership.

Conferences and membership

Institutions compete within regional conferences that set schedules and host championships. Conference champions (and assigned berths) advance to CCAA nationals under tournament formats established for each sport.

Eligibility, academics, and safe sport

CCAA policies support academic progress, transfer rules, and eligibility standards; safe sport, inclusion, and anti-doping education are delivered in partnership with member conferences and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport.

Development and pathways

Coach and administrator development, officiating support, and leadership programs strengthen capacity across the college system. Many student-athletes progress to U Sports, club, or national-team environments depending on sport.
